TCS to design and run ABB's global network in new AI network-as-a-service deal

Tata Consultancy Services will design, integrate and run the global network of Swiss engineering group ABB as an AI-driven network-as-a-service offering, the two companies said on July 13.

The multi-year, multi-million-dollar deal expands a two-decade IT partnership and moves TCS from managing ABB’s infrastructure and applications to full end-to-end oversight of its worldwide network.

The agreement implements ABB’s ‘Future Network Model’ program, replacing fragmented multi-vendor systems with a standardized, centrally managed backbone. It covers a global network operations center, modernized wide-area and software-defined WAN systems, and advanced security monitoring. ABB Group Chief Information Officer Alec Joannou and Anupam Singhal, TCS president for manufacturing, are quoted in the announcement; neither company put a dollar figure on the contract.

The deal follows an earlier 2026 collaboration between the two on industrial AI, engineering services, data centers and enterprise applications.

For TCS, the win deepens a marquee European account at a time when IT-services firms are repositioning around AI-managed infrastructure.
