OpenAI scored a strategic partnership with News Corp
News Corp and OpenAI announced a pioneering multi-year partnership that provides OpenAI access to News Corp's global news content and journalistic expertise, enabling OpenAI to deliver AI-enhanced access to journalistic content that upholds the highest standards of world-class journalism.
News Corp and OpenAI have entered a multi-year agreement that enables OpenAI to display content from News Corp mastheads in its services' responses to user queries and to enhance its products using News Corp data to help people find reliable information and news sources to base their decisions. OpenAI will receive current and archived content across News Corp's global news outlets, including The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, New York Post, The Sunday Times, The Sun, The Australian, and The Daily Telegraph. News Corp will also consult with OpenAI to make sure OpenAI's products follow the highest journalistic standards.
Both companies hailed the partnership as groundbreaking. News Corp CEO Robert Thomson called it "the beginning of a beautiful friendship" committed to creating insight with integrity. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman remarked on the deal's potential to enhance user access to high-quality reporting while respecting journalistic values, referring to the partnership as "a proud moment for journalism and technology".
