OpenAI's Converge 2 has opened its application period

Converge is OpenAI's highly competitive program for the acceleration of exceptional tech experts working on harnessing the power of AI to "reimagine the world." The program accepts a 10 to 15 founding-team cohort who, in addition to receiving a $1M investment from the OpenAI Startup Fund, will have the opportunity to participate in the six-week program taking place in San Francisco, from Monday, March 11, 2024, to Friday, April 19, 2024. Converge consists of a series of tech talks, office hours, social events, and conversations with industry leaders that allow participants and organizers to "explore the most important opportunities and challenges of building at the cutting edge of AI."

Prospective participants do not need prior experience working with AI systems to apply. Likewise, startups developing their AI-powered products need not use OpenAI's API to be eligible. Converge welcomes applicants from diverse backgrounds, experience levels, and disciplines. The program also encourages the participation of aspirants from underrepresented groups and those based outside the US. The program is held in person in San Francisco, with the option to remotely complete weeks 2 to 5. OpenAI will cover the participants' travel expenses for the first and last weeks of the program.
