This Week at Data Phoenix: Tech Talks, Demo Stage, and October 2026 Events
A new Robutler partnership for complex agent workflows, seven Tech Talks, five AI news stories, and October events with the Data Phoenix community.
Hi there,
Dmytro here. A lot is changing at Data Phoenix right now. After six months of development, our new website and platform are live. We're bringing back this digest to help you follow what's happening in our community and across the AI and data industries.
I wrote earlier about bringing back Tech Talks. Our next step is Demo Stage. Every Wednesday, builders will show three to five products and real use cases. We'll talk about their limits and what can go wrong. The goal is to help you try something useful after the demo.
No PowerPoint decks or marketing pitches. Just live demos and an honest conversation about what these products can do. If you'd like to show what you've built, apply for Demo Stage.
We're also preparing our Q4 Tech Talks series. We'll go live every Thursday. If you have a technical topic you'd like to explore in depth, I'd love to have you as a speaker. Apply for a Tech Talk.
I'll aim to send this digest every week to keep you up to date with DP and the wider industry.
Data Phoenix partners with Robutler

We're partnering with Robutler to explore how AI agents can work together on complex tasks.
Robutler is a platform for building, publishing, and using AI-native software and agents, from office and creative tools to engineering software like chip design. The software is free for people and agents to use, and anyone can adapt it to their needs and publish their own version.
Its architecture is grounded in the Web of Agents: the idea that agents anywhere on the internet can find each other, call on specialists, and hand off work, the way people do. Engineers can build on it today with the open-source WebAgents SDK and MCP (Model Context Protocol).
Together, we'll create practical solutions that show how the platform handles real tasks. Robutler will lead development while we run trials, gather feedback, and share the results with our community. The first examples will be on our website soon.
Tech Talks: seven conversations to explore
While we get the next series ready, here are seven conversations you can watch on Data Phoenix. Start with the question closest to your own work:
Your AI Agent Isn't Crashing. It's Bleeding Tokens.
Elizabeth Fuentes explains why agents burn tokens without throwing errors, and demonstrates pointers, async handles, and hooks for controlling context and tool execution.
Beyond the DAG: Building Agentic Workflows That Loop, Branch, and Scale
Santosh Kumar Radha shows how AgentField handles workflows that loop, branch, and ask for human input, with typed functions, stopping conditions, and event triggers.
Operationalizing LLMs: From Prototype to Production
Yogiraj Awati explains how Instacart puts LLMs into production, using recipe ingestion and Carebot to cover retrieval, evaluation, guardrails, monitoring, and provider fallbacks.
More Tech Talks

- From Prototype to Production: The Hidden Engineering of AI Inference
- Securing Code You Didn't Write: The AI Era's New Threat Model
- Building Trustworthy Financial AI: Governance, Bias, and Mechanistic Insights

Five stories we're following
- AWS launches SageMaker inference skill for coding agents. A new skill generates SageMaker Python code for inference benchmarks and deployment recommendations, with approval required before live endpoint tests.
- Cohere launches North 2 with agent orchestration and usage controls. The update adds workflows with multiple steps, reusable skills, and controls for model access and token usage.
- Anthropic puts $100 million behind plan to train 10,000 enterprise AI engineers. The program combines practical deployment training with a 12-week residency and targets 10,000 engineers by the end of 2027.
- Arceus Legal raises $17 million to expand its AI-assisted law firm. The funding will support hiring and expansion of a law firm where licensed attorneys work with AI agents.
- Amazon launches $1 billion-plus program for data-center communities. The five-year plan includes funding for education, job training, energy efficiency, and water preservation in U.S. data-center communities.

Meet in the Data Phoenix Slack
Join me in our Data Phoenix Slack. I want it to be the main place where we plan episodes, discuss ideas, and stay connected as a community. Share what you're building, suggest a topic, ask for feedback, post a demo, or find a collaborator.
October events
One Way Summit
I'll be at One Way Summit, October 28–29 at the Commonwealth Club in San Francisco. The program focuses on immigrant entrepreneurship, including AI and the workplace, investing in immigrant founders and a startup pitch competition run by Startup Grind. I can share a ticket offer: code DATAPHOENIX gives 50% off registration.
Data Phoenix plans to bring a studio for short interviews and product demos. If you'd like to discuss a recording slot, book a short call with me and mention One Way Summit.
TechCrunch Disrupt 2026
We'll also be at TechCrunch Disrupt 2026 to record interviews and product demos. If you'd like to do an interview or show your product, book a short call with me and mention TechCrunch Disrupt. We'll find a time and add you to our recording schedule.
October Bay Area gatherings
SF Tech Week is underway. I'll also be at these October Bay Area gatherings, and I'd be happy to see you there:
- October 6, San Francisco: SF Pitch Night by the AI Collective - #SFTechWeek. Six AI startup pitches and investor feedback.
- October 7, Sunnyvale: AI Tech Leaders' Club, Q3 2026: Building Continuously Improving AI Systems. A discussion of evaluation and feedback loops in AI systems.
- October 8, San Francisco: Physical AI VC <> Founders Pitch Night #SFTechWeek @Mission Robotics. A VC panel, planned startup pitches and networking.
Livestream coverage
Can't make it in person? We're planning livestream coverage from selected events. The Streams page will list confirmed livestreams. Check the event pages for current RSVP details and any host approval requirements.
Partner with us
Have a story, project or gathering we should bring to a wider conversation? Partner with Data Phoenix. For organizers in San Francisco and the Bay Area, we can discuss livestreaming, video, photography and sharing the resulting stories with the Data Phoenix audience.
