Meta began rolling out Pocket, an app that generates small interactive games from natural-language prompts, to all U.S. users on August 20, 2026, after quietly testing it in Brazil since around July.

Pocket lets people describe a game in words and get back a playable ‘gizmo.’ The mini-games can respond to touch and phone tilt, mix in sound effects and song clips, and tap the camera and camera-roll photos. Creations live on a user’s profile, where others can save, remix or repost them, a social loop aimed at keeping people generating and sharing.

The app grew out of Meta’s acquisition earlier this year of the team behind Gizmo, a startup working on the same idea. Gizmo’s founder, Josh Siegel, confirmed the original product was being shut down in favor of Pocket, calling the move ‘bittersweet’ in a public post.

Meta has not published its own newsroom or blog announcement of the wider rollout, leaving the details to app listings and Siegel’s post rather than a formal launch. The expansion pushes so-called vibe coding, building software by describing it rather than writing code, from developer tools toward mainstream consumer entertainment.

Whether casual users keep making games past the novelty stage, and whether Meta folds Pocket into Instagram or Facebook, will decide if it becomes more than an experiment.
