Qodo, a startup formerly known as CodiumAI, has secured $40 million in Series A funding, bringing its total funding to $50 million. The company's Series A funding round was led by Susa Ventures and Square Peg, supported by Firestreak Ventures and ICON Continuity Fund. Existing investors TLV Partners and Vine Ventures also joined the round.

The company was founded in 2022 with a focus on streamlining the testing stage of the software development process. Qodo's initial goal was to help developers increase the quality of their code by automating the creation and deployment of unit tests. Then, the startup saw the opportunity to broaden its approach to cover other aspects of software development while prioritizing code integrity, such as code review, code Q&A, documentation, functional testing, and even context-aware code generation.

Since launching 18 months ago, Qodo has attracted over one million developers looking to ensure the quality and reliability of their code. The company's tools integrate directly into developers' workflows through IDE plugins and Git platforms, enhancing their workflows with test creation and execution features, and now, as part of their broader vision, with tools to support other stages of the development lifecycle.

Qodo plans to expand its product offerings, including enhancing its test coverage agent (Qodo Cover), improving its code review system (Qodo Merge), and evolving its code and test generator (Qodo Gen) into a more capable and sophisticated multi-agent system. Notably, Qodo also shared it has been accepted to AWS’s Generative AI Accelerator.
